Bacon brownie
Posted in : Dessert on by : Maya Tags: bacon, chocolate, ground almondsIt may sound weird, but when you think about it, the tiny crispy pieces of salty bacon in moist, chocolate brownie may work really well. Actually, it works really great. If you don’t know there’s bacon, you will never guess, you may just wonder where the tiny spots of saltiness come from. It’s very easy and very delicious.
You may serve it with vanilla ice cream if you want to go crazy, but I think it works better with a glass of red wine.
Ingredients
- 225 g dark chocolate (good quality)
- 225 g butter
- a pinch of vanilla powder
- 200 g sugar
- 3 eggs
- 150 g ground almonds
- 4 very thin slices smoked bacon
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 170°C
- Place the bacon on a baking sheet covered with baking paper. Bake until crisp (around 10 minutes). Take out and leave to cool.
- Melt the chocolate and butter on low heat.
- Take the pan off the heat, add the vanilla and sugar, mix well and let it cool a little.
- Whisk the eggs and add them to the chocolate melt. Then add the ground almonds, mix them in.
- Finally, crunch the bacon into small pieces, almost into a dust and fold in as well.
- Line a backing tin with baking papers and pour the batter into it.
- Bake around 20 minutes.
